the snap of a bone

the snap of a bone

Let me take you back 6 months ago. I was at my friends house and she was sitting on the side of her deck railing. (It is wooden and thick so you are supposed to) We were about to do the try not to laugh challenge with water in our mouths and her brother wanted to play. Gemma didn’t want luke to play so she said no. Luke didn’t like that so he walked up to gemma and pushed her. She fell off the deck and onto the grass about 1.5m below. Gemma’s arm was really hurt I had never heard her like that before. I wanted to help but I didn’t know how to. At that moment her parents walked in, her brother was sent to his bedroom and Gemma’s mum asked me what happened. I was shaking so hard so I told her exactly what happened. Gemma’s dad kept saying it’s not broken, it’s not broken but she couldn’t move it. We all helped put it in a sling and I went home. The next day gemma told me about her evening and after a week of waiting for results we found out she needed A LOT of surgery because she had 2 bones broken and her elbow was displaced. She was out for the whole netball season until the last 2 games.

a friend passes- we never knew

A Friend Passes- We Never Knew.

REALLY?! said dad. I was confused because i couldn't hear the other end of the phone so i thought we had won lotto or something. then, after a long time of waiting dad got off the phone and told me what had happened. i felt a blow to my stomach, then dad paused the T.V and we talked about it. I was so sad because she used to fly over from ENGLAND every 2 years or so to see us for christmas, she was a real family friend. But nobody lives forever I guess. I asked dad if we could finish the movie later and he said ok. So i ran to my room and found a person you hang up somewhere so when you pull the string and its legs and arms fling up. I hung it above my bed.....Because she gave it to me. My memory of her.
